Ahmed is a first-year Ph.D. student in the Computer Science department. He received his bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from the American University in Cairo in 2017. He worked as the main developer for the online digital design environment Cloud V and as a senior consultant for the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) startup Efabless. During his professional career, Ahmed developed a passion for cloud-based platforms, system design, and EDA tools development. He is interested in facilitating the hardware design process in a way that translates people’s ideas into physically fabricated chips with minimal effort. Besides, he is interested in number theory and cryptography. Currently, he is working on developing physical synthesis flow tools for DARPA’s OpenRoad project.
